For the love of paper: Essimar

I discoverd Essimar via Loveology and can’t stop surfing her blog. Her work, the colours,…especially for a paper-lover like me it’s addictive! What she makes is pure eye candy; the postcards, the installations, the animals, the paper jewellery.

Esther Ramirez is the artist behind Essimar based in Chicago. She sells her work on Etsy! And I also got inspired by her original gift wrapping ideas.

Delicate embroidery

Today I loved this delicate embroidery by London-based Susie Cowie.

Miss Elmlid and the Bread Exchange Programme

My love showed me the website Fruenden von Freunden, a Selby like website with inspiring people and their homes. He pointed out one interview in specific he knew I would like; Malin Elmlid, living in Berlin, working as head of sales for Wood Wood and having her own little business with her Bread Exchange Programme.

I love the idea of baking natural and organic bread and sharing it with friends in exchange for other products or ideas! Malin also keeps her own blog: Miss Elmlid. Her story, work and interior got me inspired this weekend.

Restored (new point of sales!)

Last week I had a perfect day biking through Amsterdam with Sophia. We had an early appointment at Restored with the owners Marijke and Petra. They are selling my jewellery now as well! I simply love their shop at the Haarlemmerdijk. It is a conceptstore filled with young designers like; Lenneke Wispelwey, Tas-Ka, Satara and many more. The atmosphere here is just perfect, you can feel their passion for true creativity!

When in Amsterdam you should definitly visit Restored and say hi from me! They will also be the first in the Netherlands to sell Frankie Magazine!

Sunday afternoon high tea picnic

This weekend I was lucky I got to go to Sophia’s (friend, soon businesspartner (!!) and fellowblogger) birthday (I was supposed to work) and as always it was lovely! In an empty room of the house where she lives we had a lovely sunday afternoon high tea picnic with home baked cheesecake, chocolatetart and scones, homemade soup, couscous salade and much more. And of course everything was styled so pretty. We were sitting on a huge selfmade picnic rug under handsewn garlands.

Check out her photos at Sobinique and photos from her house were recently published on Decor8!!

Lauren Manoogian

I seem to appreciate traditional, folklore patterns and colours more and more. I like this jewellery by Lauren Manoogian because of its different style and read an nice article about her and her work here.

The day of Romantic Music

Yesterday we went to the park for ‘The day of Romantic Music‘. People were all dressed up in dresses and hats adorned with flowers, having a nice picknick with champagne while enjoying classical music. So much fun and everybody was making such an effort to look nice!

Rags to richesse

Via Intelligent Clashing I came across these rugs from Morocco. They are simply stunning. I love the colours and hope one day to own a beautiful rug or kelim in these worn out shades. An exposition of these rugs is held at the Cavin-Morris Gallery in New York.

Chance

Since this month necklaces from my brand Made by l e n n e b e l l e, are sold at Chance in the United States! Chance is founded by the super friendly Julia Leach, former creative director of Kate Spade.

Chance is build around the ‘basic blue and white striped’ t-shirt , which I love (4 ‘versions’ in my closet!), and is all about ’simplicity’ , ‘personal style’, ‘adventure’ and ‘design’. My necklaces will be sold at pop up stores and trunk sales in New York and the Hamptons!

Pieces of art

These are quilts, to me they are just pieces of art. These quilts are from Gees Bend a small place in Alabama. The skills for making these quilts are passed over for many generations. Each quiltmaker brings her unique personality to the quilt. You can read the history and story behind these quilts here. Very interesting. More quilts….
