Any must-go’s, must-see’s, must-do’s in Berlin?!

This weekend we are going for a citytrip to Berlin. It was my x-mas present for my love! We will stay at the very hip & fun Michelberger Hotel.

We will just rent a bike and go ‘sight-seeing’. Berlin must be filled with great spots, galleries, shops, cafes and bars. I made a small list of places I want to visit with a little help from Petite Passport of course! When you have know any must-go’s, must-see’s or must-do’s in Berlin please let  me know!

This will be our last trip for some time because I will be focussed on my new little pop up shop in april and may and then we will be busy with renovating our new home! Exciting times!

Fotoshoot-part 2

Deadline for the new catalog is coming closer and closer. Just received all the photos from Sophia and I am really excited. Here a little sneak preview!

Exchange project: Elke van den Berg

I am officially an Elke van den Berg fan! The first time I stumbled upon her website it was love at first sight with these porcelain cups. When I received them after doing an Exchange with Elke they were even prettier in ‘real life’!

Elke is a graduate from the famous Design Academy in Eindhoven. Besides this project she has many more. Check them out here.

Every day there is the same question ‘what shall we eat tonight?’ All cups represent ingredients to inspire a great dish.

The cups come in three different sizes and various colours. When you are interested e-mail Elke or come and visit my pop-up shop from half april till end of May in Rotterdam!! (More info soon!!)

Wantanabe Takayuki

These ceramics by Wantanabe Takayuki from Japan are simply gorgious!

Exchange Project: Lisanne Janssen

My new home is where my heart is now but the truth is engraved in this bracelet ‘home is where your heart is’! This beautifull brass bracelet is made by graphic designer and illustrator Lisanne Janssen. The bracelets are made in Nepal and engraved with her grandmothers handwriting.

When this package came in the mail it all looked so pretty wrapped with the sweet personal note in perfect handwriting and the really nice box with two small vintage photos. It is all so well taken care of. The bracelet is to wear every day and easy to combine with just about everything. I love the fact that the text is on the inside, it’s like a secret you keep for yourself.

But Lisanne makes more pretty things. Check out her website, blog and more work and shop here!

Fotoshoot part 1

Having lunch with stylist and photographer Sophia at delicious Chez Moi after a busy morning shooting photos for the new catalog part 1. This week part 2 and done by the end of this month! Can’t wait to show you the result!

And this article on the website of famous Dutch interior magazine VT Wonen made my day! Thanks Laura for your kind words.

Shop hunting in Buenos Aires

When I take a look at all the photos we took in Argentina I don’t know where to start. Luckily my love already made a start over at his blog Cloud Cuckoo with all the photos he took with his Leica. Check it out for us wandering around and our new years eve party in Buenos Aires.

I just begin with the last day. Mixing business with pleasure I decided to walk around Palermo to hunt for nice shop that might be interested in Lennebelle. In the morning we had breakfast at Magendie, a great place I will tell you more about later. I made a route using the really nice ‘mapas de buenos aires’.

There were two shops I really liked in this neighbourhood, the conceptstore Pehache 1418 and the lovely Mono + Nido: Kit Amigo. Before our trip I had found Mono through checking out blogs. Mono is a stationery brand with great little booklets and ofcourse I had to have one for all my to do lists. I also found these cute leaf-pot holders by Misa a Pan. Check out more about Mono here and Mise a Pan here. Besides they had the pretty jewelry by Emedemarta.

Handwoven treasure

This is my recent second hand treasure! A handwoven rug from Guatemala with two quetzales in the middle, the national bird of Guatemala. I think it will find a fine spot in our new home. It is so pretty and the colours are so nice!

Snowy Tuscany with my girlfriends

With three friends I went to Italy to suprise our friend who is living in the hills of Tuscany for her birthday. It was snowing heavily in the Netherlands when we left and when we landed in Pisa it was the same. Living isolated on a hill in Tuscany means no acces in this weather so after an adventurous (car stuck in the snow and a long walk in a snowstorm) trip up hill we finaly arrived like little snowmen on her doorstep. We had a great time snuggling up on the couch together near the fireplace and just chatting the hours away. No problem being snowbound when you are together with your best friends!

We bought our dreamhouse!

The best beginning of 2012. Buying the house of our dreams one day before we went to Argentina. It has everything we hoped for. You can imagine how exciting I am and how nervous I was (glad we don’t buy a new place every year,…;-)

It’s a three level corner appartment in Kralingen neighbourhood, Rotterdam. Exactly 100 years old, build in 1912. It has so many windows, so much light, an open kitchen, all these old features like ceiling ornaments and stained glass everywhere, a bath, an amazingly cosy roof terrace from our bedroom and a huge attic which we will turn into our workspaces and last but not least a fireplace! (we will have to restore it) And it is only 150 meters from the best parc in the city. What else can you wish for?

We were looking for a new place in september, we checked this one out, kept in our mind and it’s the only appartment we visited, it was that simple and obvious this was the one! I could see all the small moments of joy in this house. Making dinner for friends, drinking my morning coffee on the terrace, the sun waking me up, the cat in the window, cuddling with my love on the couch with the fireplace on,….

A lot of work has to be done but I am thrilled to get started, to ‘design’ my dream kitchen and comfy bathroom and am already finding inspiration everywhere. When you have any reccomandations on what to check out let me know!
