Found another rug today for an apple and an egg (Dutch saying, meaning ‘almost nothing’) Love the paech worn out colour. Perfect for my cosy hide out up stairs in the cosy attic room. When it’s finished this will be the place for a secret day nap, reading books and drinking lots of tea together with Jack the cat. Officially it’s his room!
Here a sneak peak of some corners in our new place. It has been 2 months since we first got the key, so much work has been done but we will probably need another two months to finish it all. We still often say to eachother what an amazing new appartment we have and how lucky we are!
With the first real days of summer the roofterrace is a real treat but also our backyard, the parc t Kralingse bos, just 100 steps away, is just perfect.
This is the first image from our new place! Next saturday will be the big ‘movingday’. A lot has been done but there is still a lot of work when we finally live here! I could not resist to put the ‘new’ rug we found at the fleamarket in Berlin on our newly grey painted floor! Love how it looks.
Beautiful still life in the shop (minishop Confetti) with fresh new flowers from Niche in an Elke van den Berg handmade and handdrawn vase! Check out more pretty items from Elke in the online shop.
To give you an idea of how the shop looks like here a few images. It was really hard to choose from all the photos that I took. Hope you like it because there will be many more.
At this moment I am pretty busy with running minishop Confetti, getting the online shop filled with amazing products from great people, making orders ready for a great new point of sales for Lennebelle in Helsinki (yes, Finland!) and Brooklyn and looking for the perfect tiles for the bathroom, making interior drawings and filling the first moving boxes for our new appartment!
Last week friends helped me to install and decorate the shop and friday was the ‘official’ opening of pop up shop ‘minishop Confetti’. It’s perfect, exactly how I imagened it to be and filled with only pieces I love from great people! We celebrated the opening with friends and family and cheered with prosecco, Vedett beer (sponsored ;-, thanks) and blueberry lemonade. And check out the flower garland by Niche.
It was a good start for minishop Confetti and already was featured at Petite Passport by the lovely Pauline and of course by Cloud Cuckoo!
Also the online shop is finished and filled with most items from the shop and will be up dated with new items often. Today my package from Miga de Pan arrived in the mail with fun potholders and soft toys. I jumped with joy a little that I can add new items to the shop.
More photos will follow soon and don’t forget to check out the online shop when you are not able to say hello at Meent 133 in Rotterdam!

The best beginning of 2012. Buying the house of our dreams one day before we went to Argentina. It has everything we hoped for. You can imagine how exciting I am and how nervous I was (glad we don’t buy a new place every year,…;-)
It’s a three level corner appartment in Kralingen neighbourhood, Rotterdam. Exactly 100 years old, build in 1912. It has so many windows, so much light, an open kitchen, all these old features like ceiling ornaments and stained glass everywhere, a bath, an amazingly cosy roof terrace from our bedroom and a huge attic which we will turn into our workspaces and last but not least a fireplace! (we will have to restore it) And it is only 150 meters from the best parc in the city. What else can you wish for?
We were looking for a new place in september, we checked this one out, kept in our mind and it’s the only appartment we visited, it was that simple and obvious this was the one! I could see all the small moments of joy in this house. Making dinner for friends, drinking my morning coffee on the terrace, the sun waking me up, the cat in the window, cuddling with my love on the couch with the fireplace on,….
A lot of work has to be done but I am thrilled to get started, to ‘design’ my dream kitchen and comfy bathroom and am already finding inspiration everywhere. When you have any reccomandations on what to check out let me know!
Try-out drawings for the uber cool Triplexlamp!
It’s just great how one thing can turn into another! By making the businesscard for Petite Passport the girl from SHPPR asked me to make drawings for their new website and businesscard for Petite Etoile which led to creating the wedding invitation for Vanessa and probably the reason why Ulrika from Sweden (& blog Mackapar) and initatior of the re-invention of the vintage and super nice designer classic Triplex lamp asked me to do drawings for their brand!
These Triplexlamps will make you fall in love for sure! Check out the classic design, the story and designs.
