Beauty of the ordinary

I think these hand embroidered plastic bags are gorgious. The patterns, the colours, the idea to make from something so ordinary a piece of art.
The bags are made by artist Josh Blackwell.

Dresses & skirts
Since I started sewing I mainly sew dresses and skirts, no pants and rarely a top. These are just a few items I made in the last year, for friends or for myself! Just now I finished some big cushions for our summer balcony. I still got a whole wishlist of things I want to sew. First thing is a long black simple dress with a low back.
I am so lucky to have the market with a large fabric part right next door where I can find amazing fabric for a euro per meter. But I still would love to go here!
More collage photos by Anja Mulder

This made my heart jump a little today! I found these photos by illustrator Anja Mulder via Slowlane Notes. I love her styling and overall atmosphere and of course the collage photos (more here) she makes!
I will definitly keep track on her blog & Flickr!

Collage kind of photos

I am wondering who you are!
Lately I see that more people are visiting A little hamster. This makes me so happy! I know some friends, family and some fellow bloggers are following my day to day findings but I am still wondering so much who all the others are! Where you are from and what you do. Through comments I love to discover new blogs. I am so gratefull for all the loyal readers and I am so curious who you are!
So join this little game (idea from Loveology) and tell me who you are!
★ Your name
★ Where you are from
★ Something about yourself (tell me 5 things about you and start every sentence with I)
➔ Reading all your comments is so much fun! Thank you so much,….and keep them coming!
Object garden

This caught my eye over at Montmartes sketchbook. The ‘Casual Object Garden and Other Material Matters’, a temporarily instellation by Carson Fisk-Vittori. I like the sublety and it made me think of the falling garden, just another interpetation on what a garden can look like.
The cutest thing

These spoons by Fine little day are the cutest things I have seen in a while! I really like the idea to give ‘used’ items a new life and look! And I fell in love with this cuttingboard!
Precious bracelet

I saw a bracelet last year with a little star at Merci in Paris and I just kept thinking about it. Now for our two year anniversary I got this cute bracelet from Charlotte Wooning. We added the star and stamped a little letter J in it.
Delicious in every sense
For a friend I made a party dress for her housewarming party. The deal was that I would get 4 old but fantastic chairs because mine (from my great grandmother) are falling apart. When I finished the dress she gave me this wonderfull cookbook ‘Festive recipies’. This cookbook is delicious in every sense. The recipes are yummy , the styling is great and the photography is beautiful.
Besides this cookbook being pretty I always find it important that the recipies are easy to make, not time consuming and that the ingredients are simple to get and that’s what this cookbook is all about. It is only published in Dutch and French.
Confetti System

There is not really a reason for a party over here (Holland lost the world cup yesterday against Spain and the whole country is dissapointed and sad) but I still love love love these beautiful garlands by Confetti System.
Besides the garlands they make pretty necklaces and pinatas.
